Choripán: An Argentine Classic

Choripán: An Argentine Classic

Time to spice up your 4th of July cookout – literally. If you're tired of the standard grill occupants, we highly recommend you check out a simple twist on some great BBQ: the choripán. Typically known as an appetizer in Argentina, choripán is a delicious sandwich with chorizo meat served whole or split on a toasted bread roll and topped with chimichurri sauce.

Here's how to grill it up:

  1. Poke a few holes in the beef chorizo sausages and place on a hot grill. You can cut them in half lengthwise or cook them whole. Either way, you're good to go. Leave on the grill until fully cooked and get the bread ready.
  2. Cut the bread rolls lengthwise and lightly toast them on the grill. French rolls or baguettes are great to use here. If you want, add a little more flavor with a brushing of olive oil.
  3. Put some chimichurri sauce on the bread, place the sausage onto it and then add some more sauce.
  4. Time to eat up!

Although the chimichurri sauce adds some flavor and spice, you can get even bolder by adding in some salsa, onions or even cilantro. Pair with "Colosal" Red Blend for delicious 4th, indeed!
